As requested by Ms. Jessica's Students (but useful for everyone)

Connectors instead of "because"
🎮    As: "He chose not to see that movie, as it had gotten poor reviews." Instead of: "He chose not to see that movie because it had gotten poor reviews."
🎮    As a result of: Substitutes "because of": "He could not play football as a result of his broken leg." Instead of: "He could not play football because of his broken leg."
🎮    Due: Substitutes "because of": "He could not play football due to his broken leg." // "Due to the fact": "He could not play football due to the fact he had broken his leg."
🎮    Since: More informal than "because", but has the same meaning: "She didn't want to go since she had a lot of homework." Instead of: "She didn't want to go because she had a lot of homework."
